Epoxy type for fretless?

Sign in to disble this ad
What type of epoxy is the hardest to put on a fretless fingerboard? I'm referring to hard as in hard like a diamond, not difficult!
Is it difficult to use?

Thanks

system 3 mirror coat and west system 106(not sure, but the slow hardener-formula) seem to be the most recommended. I did mine with west system.

I've used System3 Mirror Coat for all my fretless refits. I recently got to revisit a bass I worked for a client over a year ago. even with his love for Rotosounds on this fretless he uses on a regular basis (he's a studio and session pro) the fingerboard is showing just some surface rashing

all the best,

R

Consider a two coat solution - System 3 has a very thin product called Rot Fixx that wicks into wood better than the Mirror Coat alone - hit your board with the thin stuff as a sort of primer then do finish coats with the Mirror Coat.
