Experience lengthening scale on just E string?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have heard about people putting a small 1/2" cylinder between the ball of the E string and the bottom of the bridge, making the E string scale that much longer than the other strings - Kind of like the dingwall theory. Has anyone tried this?

I have a Fender Highway 1 J-Bass with the badass II - its a 34" so I would then have a 34.5" E string

The scale length does not include any of the string above the nut or below the saddles of the bridge.
