I tried to search but didn't know what to search exactly.
Anyways, i do a lot of tapping and when I tap on the higher frets, and 14-19, there seems to be another note playing from the opposite side of the string. I did a set up and it still happens. I'm sure it's been a problem with some others, but can anyone help me fix this? |

When tapping, say the 14th fret, I will hear a note coming from the other side of the string, between the nut and the 14th, this only happens when I tap and it is noticeable through amplification.
Those mutes look like they would help but I'm wondering if I can get rid of it by other means |

You need to have the relief or you'd have fret buzz all over the place when playing normal fretted notes. You probably just never noticed the "back side" note before, but it is always there. I would agree that muting either with a scrunchie thing, (or with your fretting hand) should take care of the problem.

is there something i can do to the saddles/truss rod to kind of hinder these "back side" notes? |

If you just put it on the first or second fret, it barely mutes the strings, they still ring out quite a bit. You'd have to have it down to like, the 7th fret before it started to physically mute the string. It's apparently a studio tool for a lot of people, as it allows you to get a clean take quickly. I've heard good things about them. I'd say like F Clef Jef up there said, either a fret wrap of some sort or your hands. No other way to stop the string from vibrating in that direction. |
