There's some good info over at the Reranch site for relicing. Might try looking there.

In fact the real cause of my intresset is to get rid of some irritable scratches in the high gloss (I M O to shiny) black finish. (so... some way to faint the finish would be handy)

Not at all a stupid question, I should have included it earlier.

www.reranch.com

The whole site is about finishing and refinishing. There are plenty of expierenced people here at TB that can help also, so don't give up here either.

Now I've tested to "buff" with Turtle Wax - Scratch Remover but it didn't manage to remove the scratches.

I've also tested with 0000 steelwool but I didn't manage to get an even matte surface, just a lot of small scratches.Maybe I did'nt worked (with rotation moves) long/much enough? (and not enough to remove the orginal scratches)

Maybe that polyuretan finish wont reakt positivly to this/such treatment?

OK

Now I've tested to sand with waterproof sanding sheet 600
(and rinsed with water) and that removed the scratches.

Then I sanded waterproof sanding sheet 1200
(and rinsed with water) to get an matte/fainted finish,
(just on an limited area around the forearm contoured upper body side where the scratches, wich I think comes form som bracelet vearing pic slugger, was)

but... it didn't worked out so well. The finish looked verry "synthetic" and there still was a lot of small circular patterns (scratches).

This MIM black finish (polyuretan?) seem to be hard as glass.

With this unsatisfying result I desided to try to "buffering up" the sanded area once again.

So... then I rubbed the surface with: first Turtle Wax-Scratchremover, then Sonax-Carpolish and at last Sonax-Floating Hardwax.
(for totaly some three hours work)

but in this wrighting moment I'm still not satisfied with the result.

Please, easen my pain, anyone...

I've tired to catch the result with my Dimage Xg but it wont take it.Bad pics. (not my lucky day

Ps/I'm living in Sweden and here's winter, 19.00 PM and no daylight so the flash from the camera reflects on the surface /Ds

but if I should try to describe it more, it looks like if you've sanded on glass.
