Fender Aerodyne Classic Precision Special - Installing new bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
Not sure if anyone else ran in to this issue, but I recently picked up a used Fender Aerodyne Classic Precision Special, (amazing bass) and purchased Gotoh 201 bridge to replace the dinky stock one. Anyhow, the Gotoh is not a direct replacement for this bass and oddly enough there's a shaved slot for the stock bridge in which the Gotoh won't fit. Are there any direct raplacement bridges out there that will save me from having to resize the slot and having to cut through the lacquer finish?

Cheers!

Ya the Gotoh 201 is a direct replacement on most all other Fenders but with the Aerodyne you have to use a bridge with the same footprint as the stock bridge. I'll have to surf around a bit to find bridges that will work, I'm thinking maybe the Gotoh 203 or Hipshot Vintage? Wilkinson maybe also?

ALWAYS measure the bridge of your aerodyne with a vernier calliper to get a precise measurement, and then make sure the new one fits. It need be call up the company, but always check.
