Fender American Deluxe Jazz Truss rod

My normal allen wrench wont fit my new american deluxe jazz, by that i mean its too long and the adustment is at the heel of the neck, so it doesnt fit. Do have to take the neck off to adjust it, or do i just need to cut the allen wrench? Thanks

I'm using a 3/16" ball end T-handle. Only have to remove the pickguard.
