Fender "Barrel" Knobs on a Jazz Bass?

Anybody ever use the P-Bass/Tele "Barrel" Knobs on a Jazz Bass?

Every Jazz Bass I've ever seen has either the plastic knobs or "rounded" metal knobs. Is there a difference in height between the rounded and barrel? Any reason for not using the barrel knobs on a Jazz? Location maybe?

I have chrome barrel knobs on my jazz v. I think they look way better.

I have Black Knobs on my Jazz and Aerodyne I also like the look.
