I recently purchased and received a Mighty Mite replacement Pbass neck for a Fender MIM Pbass body I bought. I also purchased and received a new set of Fender logo tuners/bushings/screws.
The neck was advertised as being drilled for 11/16" bushings/tuners. However, the Fender tuners/bushings(Fender part# 0058265049) measure 5/8". Nowhere have I found the size printed and assumed they were 11/16". Regardless, I own them and intend to use them.
My question: Is there anything I can do (tape, glue, etc.) to either increase the size of the bushings or decrease the size of the hole to make these fit? I mean, is there any way that YOU guys would do it short of replacing the tuner bushings or returning the neck?

Fender '70s Style Bass Tuners, One Set
Fender '70s style bass tuning machines, chrome plated, cloverleaf keys. "Fender" stamped onto the base plate. These are full size tuners similar to those found on '70s-'80s Precision Bass, Jazz Bass, etc. 'Press in' headstock bushings and mounting screws are included. Brand New. Tuners Genuine Fender Part Number 0013187000. Bushings 0058265049. Screws are Genuine Fender.
And the Pbass neck is supposedly Fender approved and standard. I had no idea that the bushings would be different. I may have to start looking for different sized bushings. They're not easy to find, however. Fender's site lists vendors but none of them carry bushings that I can find.

Tape on the bushing is usually a temporary fix at best< and gluing the bushing in is going to damage the neck if they are removed. look online for replacement bushings for the Mighty Mite hole, or you can buy Bushings from Mighty mite. Another possible resolve. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-genuine-FEND...item43a70a7e23 http://cgi.ebay.com/4-BLACK-VINTAGE-...item4cf13fb2f0
or the bay as listed above....many listings for bushings.

Verry agressive adhesive on this stuff. Cut strips that are as wide as the knurled shaft of the ferrule, just long enough to wrap around. Build it up to where you need it, snug fit. Press 'em in. Won't compress like plastic tape. permanent.
