I need to get a brass plate to fit on my Fender Precision Headstock to stop vibration. Does anyone know where I can find this?

There is/was a product called the Fat Head, a metal plate that fit the entire headstock, but it's elusive on the web and I can't find a current distributor. Best bet may be to find a hardware store that carries some sheet brass and have one cut to fit.

Then there's the Fat Finger, a clamp. Fat Finger at MusiciansFriend.com

They were originally designed by the founder of Groove Tubes (forget his name at the moment). Anyway, he refined his design to the Fat Finger (available at musician's friend or wherever), which is supposed to work wonders (and is recommended by Sadowsky). if you want to track down a Fat Head, someone else is making it now (under license from GT?) -

Aspen Pittman is the Groove Tubes founder. I've made my own brass headstock plates (for guitar, not bass) and couldn't decide if liked it better or not. I kind of think that more mass at the headstock may improve an instrument you already like, but won't fix problem instruments. Can't speak definitively, though that doesn't usually stop me.
