I know this has been asked before, but I couldn't find what I was looking for in a search, so ...
How difficult is it to swap out the HMV bridge on a current American Standard bass for a vintage Fender low mass bent steel bridge?

just swap it for an older american standard bridge; it's low mass but fits exactly, string-through and all.
