Fender J-Bass Chrome Bridge Cover [HELP!]

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm going to purchase a Squier Classic Vibe J-Bass, and I want to make it look like a 1966 Fender Jazz Bass. Thinking about the Bridge cover with the classic "F" on someone came up with the idea of will it fit?
Its not standard bridge size from what I understand.

So my question: What are the specs of the bridge cover? So I can compare to the specs of the bridge and area on the bass where I want to mount it.

I checked some photos on the web, and that bass has the new-style heavier bridge. My best guess is that the cover will fit, as there's a fair amount of room between the bridge and cover - but it wouldn't hurt to measure a bridge at a GC and check it.

If the bass has the classic bent metal bridge, the answer is YES - the cover will fit.

Need Help please

I know this is an old thread but I found in in the search function.

I purchased a Genuine Fender "F" Ashtray bridge cover and it doesn't seem to fit properly on my Squier CV 60's Jazz.

Bummer, I thought it would look really cool.

Has anybody successfuly installed one on a Squier CV with the stock bridge?

Is there a larger Ashtray? Like on without the F or one made for a 5 string?
