Fender Jazz 1975RI - REfretting it

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, so I bought this bass about two years ago. It's a quality bass, with incredibly good looks (a little like myself ). Anyhow, the former owner had had it de-fretted.....stuuuuuuuuupid. However, for the price I got it for it was still a good buy. Now, will it be possible to get it re-fretted without destroying the fingerboard and binding?

Any bass can be re-fretted. (Or almost)

Depends on the money you have to put on your bass to have the frets put on.

I'll pay up to £200 for the full job to be done.

refret a drefret

I'd charge $400 for a bound fingerboard, $450 if it's ebony. If this bass has had the fret slots filled, it could be an expensive can of worms.

Buying a new neck might even be cheaper.

Where do I find a 75 reissue neck for it though?
