Fender Jazz 24-fret replacement neck

Sign in to disble this ad
Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to replace the neck on my Fender Jazz 24. However, I can't seem to find any 24-fret necks that don't have a fretboard extension - the 24-fret Warmoth necks have an "overhang" that extends beyond the neck itself, while the factory neck on my bass has the whole fretboard over the neck.

Does anybody know where I can find a replacement? I've checked Warmoth, Mighty Mite, Allparts, etc, with no luck. Thanks!

You might have to go directly to Fender for that one. How old is the bass? Would the neck be covered by the warranty possibly?

Good luck.

The neck isn't covered under warranty in this case, so I was trying to get an idea of how much it would cost to replace. Anyone have an estimate?

You will probably have to have a builder one off a neck for for you. It won't be cheap.

You can try to contact Michael Dolan.

I had Chris Stambaugh build me such a neck for a J style body I had. Wasn't cheap, but it's a damn fine neck.

I have a feeling anything associated with the name "Stambaugh" would be awesome, but waaaay out of my price range. I'll try to get in touch with Fender.

I bet a neck from Chris wouldn't cost any more than one that says "Fender" on the headstock, assuming both are new.

Give him a call...ya got nothing to lose.
