Fender Jazz 24 ideas for custom stuff

Hey guys

I know many of you do not like this bass.
If you do not like this bass, can you please not
respond to this post? Thank you guys!!! .

I have a Cherry Sunburst J24 and I am trying
my best to take care of it. It has become part of my
signature tone at shows, and I get a lot of people commenting on it---maybe I should just leave it as is, but...

I wanted to know if it is possible to put the Jazz bass Pick guard and
the Ashtrays on this bass. I really like the look of these
items, and I would like to add them to my guitar at some point.

I have searched and have found nothing.
When I bought the bass, I had an issue with it not fitting into
the standard case because it is a little longer. Does this have any bearing on
what I am trying to do?

Thank you very much for the help, and I look forward
to your suggestions!

Regards,

~Sunn

I have one, and in my opinion it would be a crime to cover up that gorgeous top with a pickguard and/or an ashtray and pup cover. Leave it bare, man!

I have one Tobacco Burst. I put in bart stacked HBs and a Bart 3 band with the mid 3 pos switch, had it pleked and it is one fine jazz bass and the only Fender I have with 24 frets and I do like those extra frets.
Check in at Jeannies pickguards if you have to have one, but get it in clear, don't hide that beautiful top.

+1, BUT you could aways have a clear pickguard made, similar to Will Lee's older Sadowsky. That would look kinda cool...

...aaanyway, the 24's body is a very different shape, so no, regular jazz bass pickguards won't fit.

you could put the pickup cover on it (doesn't that get right in the way of playing it, though?)

the bridge ashtray probably won't fit over the high-mass bridge.
