Fender Jazz skunk stripe finish crack

I'm considering the purchase of a Fender J-bass that has a finish crack where the skunk stripe is. I'm just wondering if this is a bigger red flag than just a crack, and what needs to be done to fix or resolve the issue.

What is the answer you found?

My P-bass fell off a guitar stand and has a finish crack along the skunk stripe on the 3rd fret, but it seems to play and neck adjust without any ill effects.
