Fender mustang bass guitar

Have a fender mustang which feels great to play and is very fast. I play on an HM band . My other bass a bagstrom sounds heavier but I prefer the fender. Can I add an additional pick up and if so what sort ? Any ideas welcome . Also I play with a pick and usually hold o to the g string to anchor hand. Anybody out there use a pick and a finger rest ?

You can do anything you want to with pickups, just depends on how much you want to chop up a bass you like. You can probably add just about any pickup, but you certainly will change the character of the bass.

And if you like the sound, why change the bass? Or maybe it's just the feel and balance you like...in which case you might consider picking up a Squier Bronco and modding it - they're decent basses, priced right and easy to mod.

Yea it's the feel and playability I like . Maybe buy a bronco as well and tinker

There are some really interesting threads on this forum discussing mods to Broncos - there are tons of photos. I'm just thinking that a relatively new Mustang may not be ideal to start modding - but a Bronco plays about the same and practically begs for creativity.
