Fender P-V--saddle screws

I have a 2008 American Standard Precision V--got it used from another TB'r. Nice sounding P, good B. I put my string choice for this bass on (DR Nickel LoRiders) and while the setup as far as action, intonation, etc. go is fine, the damn saddle screws jutting up are bugging my hand when I play pickstyle---I do a lot of resting my hand on the bridge/muting/etc. etc. It's like they're 1/8" too tall, roughly.
What's the best bet? File them down? Or revisit the whole setup---maybe they're cranked up too high for some other reason? I'm no bass tech, but the economy has made me one by default

I felt the same about my P5 when i finaly go tthe action just right.
I play with a pick most fo the time and tend to rest my hand on the bridge. I found the G and D saddles would dig in to the side of my hand.
I just got a new set of grub screws that were about half the height of the fender ones. Made a big difference.
Its a shame you arent in the UK as i could send you some spares i have.
