Fender Precision fretless too much front bow

I bought a neck for cheap that had way too much forward bow, and this is without string tension.

Here is how I straightened it, using a wood clamp

I removed the truss rod nut, lubed it with molybdenum grease, and tightened it back on the rod, with the neck in a backbow

Here is the neck now at rest. It is almost perfectly straight, I will leave it like this and see if it shifts back. If it does I will have to use heat

ok since Spring is back, started to really work on this neck.
One of my theories of why the neck has such a forward bow is that the epoxy coating is holding it into that shape (I could be wrong) Anyway the coating is quite thick, and very nicely done.

I started sanding it down a bit, but using a radius block and 100 grit sandpaper is barely putting a dent in it Anybody tried to remove epoxy with one of those paint strippers that claim to remove epoxy?
