Fender precision/jazz bridge/pickup covers

Hi, I'm trying to determine how one tells if the vintage Fender bass they are getting has the original, or at least date specific, cover set on it. I know that those 70s bridge covers had that foam muting pad on it, but other than that, is there any way to determine the date of those things? Was there any kind of date stamp or marking I should look for? Thanks for any input you may have...

I've seen and used a fairly large number of both. Including my original '66 PBass. Most of the replacements that I bought came from Fender in the 90s. I have no experience with other brands. Of the ones that I've seen, I don't recall any having any markings of any kind. Also, the newer PBass PU covers are a bit longer requiring you to bend it at such an angle (rounded) that it looked horrible on the '66. I didn't want to drill new holes, so I re-chromed the original and used it. You might run into the same problem on your 70s. Hope this helps.
