Fender Precision Necks

Quick question for anybody with experience of modding Fender P-Basses: will any Fender Precision neck fit any Fender Precision body? I saw a Fender USA Precision Deluxe neck for sale, but noticed it has five screw holes for attaching to the body - will it still fit on a standard P-Bass? And for that matter, would it fit to a non Fender P-Bass copy?
Many thanks!

No, regrettably they do not all fit the same. I think most non-deluxe 4-bolt necks fit most non-deluxe 4-bolt bodies, but even then it's not a sure thing. As far as non-Fender copies, I think you can expect reasonably good results with aftermarket parts specialists like Warmoth or Mighty Mite, but not from Asian off-brand copies.

I'm having good luck with my J neck to P body swaps. MIJ/CIJ and
MIA seem to play together pretty well. Cannot vouch for P inbreeding
though- or American standard and deluxe etc.

Cool - thanks for the help, both of you. I'm going to go for an entry level MIM standard neck and see if it fits well to the copy body; I'll let you know how it goes.

It won't fit without major changes..
The Fender Deluxe series features 22 vs. 20 frets on standards.
