Fender Reissue or Hipshot HB-3

which kluson style tuners would be better? the fenders are like 5 or 10 dollars less, so that part doesnt really matter, they also say fender and will match everything going on my jazz bass. but thats not a huge issue either, im not a parts nazi, but would probably make for a better resale value if they all matched. Also, would the fender deluxe bridge be a good replacement on my MIM? i was set on putting a Bad Ass on there, but the deluxe doesnt look so bad, but not quite as massive as the BAII, the BAII would give me more sustain right?

I would look at the tuning ratio of both sets of tuners, and let that be my decesion. I think the Hipshots are something like 20 or 25:1. I can't remember exactly. But functionality is more important, IMO.

And I have a BAII on my P, as do ALOT of other people around here. I can't comment on the deluxe bridge, but I haven't been unhappy with my BAII either.

I believe the Fenders are 20:1 or 22:1 where the Hipshots are 27:1. I'll take the latter any day.

Not to mention, the Hipshots have adjustable tension.

I'll take the Hipshots anyday.

thanks thats what i was looking for, hipshots it is. so yeah im basically taking my first bass and goin all out on it, and im putting 60's style stack knobs in and did you know its a pain in the a$$ to find stacked 250k/250k's? i finally found them from a commercial user here, but theyre 20 a piece!! but thats because the make them in house apparently. from what ive heard thats original on the pre cbs fenders(dont take my word for it though) and on the reissues they use 500/250's. well itll be on here as soon as its all up to speed, probably end of september early october!

Have you found a controll plate with only 3 holes? If so, where?

yeah search plain old fender bass, or fender reissue etc and the knobs you need have to be for american/CTS pots, they are larger than the other ones that are out there.
