Fender Road Worn '50s P nut

Nut broke.

This nut is a bit longer than the standard pre-cut Fender replacement part. Fits a 1.75" nut width.

Anybody got a part number and source for a replacement?

Also noticed the original pre-cut slot heights are not radiused for the 7.25" radius fretboard. Fender authorized replacement part may have the same problem, but I'd prefer a replacement designed for *this* neck.

You will need to get a blank.

Yeah, first thing I did was glue it back together.

I was afraid a blank would be the only solution... Fender doesn't list the Road Worn or Classic series in their service diagram downloads. The AV 57 part number is for a blank.

Give it the superglue.Dont use it right away let it bond nicely then chuck it back on & try it.I filed my E slot too much & got bad rattle but it was an easy fix.

Thanks guys, but this is not a slot issue. I've used the baking soda w/superglue mix before. This nut just plain broke in half.

For gluing in a nut I use Loctite Stik'n Seal. It's waterproof and strong. Takes about 24 hours to fully cure - which is important to know if you have a pointy headstock and the string tension pulls the nut to one side.

You can always order material from StewMac.com and make your own out of material that suits your preference. STEWMAC.COM : String nuts
