Fender Schaller Deluxe Lite Series Bass Tuning Machines

Hey guys,
I am doing some upgrades on my MIM Fender P Bass (BBAII) and I thinking about maybe switching out the tuners too. I love how these look on the MIAs, like these: Genuine Fender Bass Guitar Tuning Machines at Buzzard's Bass Guitar Shop and I was wondering if they would fit on my bass no problem? Sorry if this is a dumb question and I will take suggestions for upgrades as well! Thanks guys!

i put those very keys on my own USA P-bass, and i like them. very light, but plenty sturdy.

they will need a little drilling, to make the indentations in the wood for the two fat protrusions on the key base to fit into.

also, a "must-do" with these is to drip a little loctite into the tension-screw hole before re-installing the little tension screw; otherwise, it will back out, fall out, and get lost, along with the special metal ring surrounding it.

Just maybe don't buy them from that supplier, he's had personal issues that have affected delivery times. I'm sure at some point it will get better but do you want to chance it? I had a terrible result and very rude correspondance from him when asking questions about products. Not cool.

Alright thanks for the info, well noted. So it would fit my MIM but may require a bit of drilling?? That sounds risky .... Lol drills + instruments, scare me

Pretty much any lightweight tuner will require some drilling. The good news with the Fender/Schaller type is that the holes aren't remotely deep enough to risk going through the headstock. They are just shallow guides for the pins that stick out of the tuners and once the tuner is installed, the holes are completely concealed. However it does take some ingenuity to locate the holes properly so the tuners are aligned with each other.

Here you can see what the guide pins look like:
