Fender Thumb Rest dimensions

Hi all,

I want to put a thumb rest on my Ibanez sr500 because I'd like to be able to anchor my thumb a bit closer to the strings when I play. I've previously played only Fenders and the top of the pick up isn't that far from the E-string. My aim is to install the thumb rest so it's lower than the tops of the pickups.

I don't have access to a thumb rest to check the dimensions of it, I'm thinking of ordering this online. But I don't know if it would fit between the pickups on my sr500.

Could anyone with a Fender thumb rest give me the dimensions? Ideally I'd like to be able to get one, drill the holes and screw it in, I don't really want to have to start altering the size of the thumb rest itself to make it fit.

Hi,I've got a 505 that I made thumb rest's for,the thing I would like to tell you is,do'nt put holes in the top of your bass.....I put mine on with 3m moulding tape,it's the kind with the red backing.It holds mine on with no trouble,and if you want to move it ,or just take it off,your not hurting the finish on your bass.Works for me...Got pics if you'd like to see'm...
