I actually widened and deepened the D-A-G slots just a hair. Because of The significant gauge difference between the typical E and B string,I had to widen and deepen the E slot considerably. I went with the lightest B string gauge possible which was the Diadarrio super light gauge .125. To my suprise, I did not get B. String Flop. The B was tight just like the remaining three. Because the standard string settings were so tight, I was actually able to lower my saddles quite a bit lower than If I had detuned the Standard EADG to BEAD. My experience with Detuning EADG to BEAD was nothing but floppiness. All that floppiness caused me to have to raise my action about 3 miles off the fret board to prevent buzz. Intonation of all strings was no problem.
The only downside is that the thicker and tighter strings might be harder to pluck. And also you're missing the high pluck of the G string. It was what I expected though;Playability of a 4 string but the sound of a 5.
