Finger Board Replacement Question

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Gibson EB-3 with a truss rod that has been stripped. Looks like the previous owner had tried to remove the fingerboard and broke it inseveral places. I have removed the rest and will proceed to replace the truss rod. My question is about the fingerboard. I have seen where you can remove the finger board frets and all and replace the truss rod and then re glue the finger board intact. I would like to buy a finger board with the frets allready installed. Anyone know where I can get it? If not I have seen the new Epiphone EB-O basses can be gotten cheep on e-bay. Would it be a viable alternative to buy one of those and use the fingerboard from it?
