i use this everytime i play, it makes the strings & fretboard slick & eliminates alot of minor buzzing. it never left any build-up on the fretboard (rosewood, maple, ebony). do alot people use this? any negatives?

I used to use it. Then I found myself in a pickle when I ran out or lost it. I decided it was one less thing I needed to worry about and now I just pick 'em up and play.

Never had any adverse affects on the bass though.

I've used it for a long time... not regularly though. I use it mostly in the winter when my hands are really dry.

I used it once or twice, but I never really noticed a difference. I was always afraid that it would wear the strings out quicker (I play with stainless steel strings most of the time), so I didn't continue to use it.

Never felt the need for it. My fingers don't heat up or smoke at my current speed, so I'm O-tay.

I spray it on the base of my 4 X 10 cab so it slides easily in/out of the bed of my pickup truck.

Seriously, never used it but I have used FastFret and that was like 25 years ago.

I use this occassionally when the strings just feel "slow". It does reduce friction and string noiseand I've never noticed any loss of string life. Works great!

I've used it since 1966 on many different basses and I've never had a problem. I don't recall where, but I read somewhere that a coating will give your strings a longer life by protecting them from dirt, grime, sweat etc. I've found that to be true on round wounds. And, the slickness that you get on the strings and neck helps many times.

I have used it before but I prefer Fastfret....I don't use it often but when I get a new set of strings I generally sand the back of the neck with 1500-200 grit sandpaper, wipe front and back of the neck with old english lemon oil, install strings, then apply Fastfret. Thats the only time I ever use it, I have a friend who plays guitar and he uses Finger-ease everytime before he plays.

I use to use it in the early 70's and it was ok stuff.

I believe that it's full of silicone which is impossible to remove, so if you ever wanted to refinish the instrument it was used on, you can't.

I like to slide a lot even though I play a fretted bass, so sometimes I'll grab my lead guy's FastFret and dab it on.

It can be a little TOO greasy, though, and my fingers sometimes zip right off the string and fly off into empty space when I'm going too fast (which sounds like the cord just cut out or something)...

It can't be sanded off?

Unfortunately it can't. It penetrates the wood and is impossible to remove.

If the back of the neck gets sticky I use it on the back of the neck. Never used it on the strings. Don't plan to sand or refinishing any of my basses... ever.
