fingerboard wear

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I've recently noticed the the third fret of my E string has a spiral pattern engraved into that must have come from the string. Is this normal wear or am I doing something wrong?

Also, is there an easy way to remove it?

Thanks.

those crazy roundwounds will begin wearing on all parts of the neck. in fact, i've been playing so much lately that i've worn some new patches in my neck between frets in places. it's pretty normal wear and tear. ain't much wrong you can do, unless you're pushing the string into the fret and grinding it back and forth real hard on purpose... but that's just dumb...
