Finish maintenance

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi

I've been searching awhile and I haven't found much general info on maintening different finishes. You know, the basic stuff: which exist (nitro, oil...), how to recognise them, and how to maintain a nice finish. What should be cleaned using a dry cloth exclusively, or lemon oil or waxing? Stuff like that.

I know next to nothing about finishes, and many more might be like me. I'm not asking about maintening my bass, but finish maintenance in general. Consider this a "Finish maintenance for dummies" sticky thread request, it might be useful to guys (or gals!) like me.

I do hope that this belongs in this forum. If not, please move it to the correct one.

If you've got the time to write some general finish related information, please do so.

Thanks
