First time Bass Neck Defret

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

I'm in the middle of doing a project bass (for my daughter) and she decided she wants a fretless neck. I already had a fretted maple Jazz neck so I did the research and took my first shot at de-fretting a neck.

Here's the link to the video on You Tube. Enjoy!

I'll be doing more videos of the next steps: adding wood veneers to the fret lines, and changing out the dots. I'll post updates as I get more videos uploaded.

Cheers!

quick question... did u make the bass?

or did u buy a t bird and decide to mod it yourself?

if you made the whole thing, do you have any videos of the construction of it?

great work by the way

Rocker_Mud,
Thanks for the feedback! This is the first video I've done with this project, but I have photos of the prep and paint process for the body. You can view them at:
http://homepage.mac.com/rayzorx/menu20.html

I bought the body from A&D Guitars in Az., and had him route it for the Pbass/Jbass PUPs. The neck I got from Mighty Mite. It was fretted but my daughter has been playing my Godin fretless and likes it, so bye bye frets.

The color and splats are all my daughters' idea.

I just picked up some burled walnut veneer, so I should have another video by the end of the week.
Stay tuned.....
