Fitting a thumb rest?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, i feel i am able to maintain a better finger playing technique when i play with my fingers closer towards the bridge. So i am thinking about fitting a thumb rest just above my e string (average pick up height) between my pick guard and bridge. So i am able to have some support for my right hand. Is this a bad place to put it? how would i fit a thumb rest?

Sorry if this is a noobish question. Also i play a fender mustang bass ri 2009!

Don't glue it on. Put some scotch tape down first. Then use double-sided tape and stick the thumb rest on it. This way you can be sure that position is actually what you want BEFORE taking steps that may ruin the finish of your bass.
