I have a pretty much dead-mint 1996 Warwick Thumb NT 4-string. However, the previous owner was apparently a little rough while slapping, as there is some wear from his index knuckle hitting the bass's body. It basically appears to be a area slightly lighter-colored than the rest of the body.
It's odd. If I didn't tell you it was there, you would never know. But ever since I noticed it, it consumes my attention when I look at the bass. I was never a person who freaked out over dings and wear, but for some reason this light spot in the finish really bugs me. Most likely because it's right on the face of the instrument, and it's my favorite/dream bass. If I could restore it, that'd be fantastic. I hardly ever slap, so if I could refin that part, it would stay that way.
The body is bubinga with a natural oil finish, and she gets waxed once a month.
Is there any way I can "restore" the finish on that part of the bass to make it appear more uniform? There is no wear into the wood, just a general fading of the finish in that spot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Here's a pic of the bass's body; the wear spot is the light place below the G-string, between the neck and pickup. It goes from the string almost to the edge of the body.
