Fixing Intonation on Jazz Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a newer Active Fender Jazz Bass. I recently put some Daddario flatwounds on it and it is having intonation problems. I will tune the bass but it will be severly out of tune starting at the 5th fret or so. How can I fix this problem??? Thanks

Yeah, just google "How to intonate bass guitar".

Basically use the screws to at the back of your bridge to match the open string to the twelfth fret.

Yep. The Calvary Chapel I do musical tech support for asked me to set up their donated MIM Jazz a few months ago. The last thing I did to it before turning it back in them was correct the intonation issues. It took me a good hour.. did it with an accurate digital tuner and a screwdriver. The notes played "true" all the way up the neck when I was done. You can do the same thing.
