| Yes, the glue will wick in. Assuming a rosewood or ebony fingerboard, apply to both sides of the fret. Press the fret in with a suitable tool, like a dowel rod with a notch filed in the end. Or a straight edge can be employed to bridge over the two surrounding frets. Spray some accelerator on to the fingerboard and fret end and hold in place for twenty seconds or so. Cleanup excess with a razor blade. If the neck has a lacquer finish, paste wax is applied up to the fret edge and the fingerboard is taped off between the surrounding frets. Clean up is then similar to the above. |
