Fixing stripped screw hole for truss rod cover

I found one of the screw holes on the truss rod cover is completely stripped. I know, not a big deal, but I'm a completely neophyte and don't want to ruin this lovely bass I have.

So do I --

a. jam a toothpick and glue into the stripped hole and then use the existing screw,

b. try to find a slightly wider screw that will fit in the hole and bite against the sides,

c. take the base to a pro, or

d. do something else entirely?

Thanks!

Just stick a toothpick in the hole and break it off. No need for glue in a hole that small.

Correct answer. Works on control cavity covers, strap pins, neck screws, you name it. Does anybody ever really use these things for picking their teeth?!?

no reason not to use a bit of wood glue in there too, though; just as easy, and truly fixes the problem.

(search "stripped hole" for a bunch of threads on this)
