Flight case foam replacement

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi folks,
anybody know where to find a replacement for a flight case internal foam?

It has to be custom made with the bass shape.

Any input would be appreciated, thank you!

I've done this before myself.

I bought two foam sheets at a local Joanne Fabrics store, each half of the total needed thickness. Placed bass on one of the foam sheets and traced with a black marker. Next used an electric carving knife (like the one's to carve turkey) and cut out the shape. Glue the full, uncut piece in the case first, then glue the cut piece on top of it.

Optional, but I then used spray adhesive on the foam and put a thin, soft material on top so it looked professional.

The pro shops cut the foam with a heat-wire knife, but there's really no need to purchase such a specialty item.

That sounds like a great job!

Do you have a clue of how much a pro shop can charge for this? Just trying to figure out if it's worth doing it yourself or not.
Thank you for the info Eric!
