Fodera Owners, Truss rod advice needed!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

This is my first post on TalkBass, I`ve been a background lurker for ages but haven`t actually posted anything until now. I need help with adjusting the truss rod on my `05 Fodera Monarch (83 VW Classic model). I have just acquired it and have a preference for lighter gauge strings than the previous owner (I like DR 40-95`s). Unfortunately I can`t get enough relief into the neck -when I undo the truss rod nut it just comes loose and doesn`t introduce any more relief to the neck at all. I think I only need to introduce less than 1 mm of relief but at the moment there is a very slight back bow. I understand the truss rod can be removed and flipped over to provide extra relief if needed - can anybody tell me how this is done? I have all the tools that the bass was supplied with (I think...!), including a T-handled threaded tube which I believe may be the truss rod removal tool. If anybody can offer insight I would be very, very grateful!

Thanks in advance, Matt (UK)

Ok... I finally got to speak with Vinnie at Fodera, who couldn`t have been more helpful. For anybody that`s interested you just screw in the truss rod tool and pull the rod right out, then you flip it over and push it back in. Easy! The problem is now solved!

If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.
