Ditto with what he said. Your bass makes a lot of noises, but what counts is what comes out of the amp.
I have a marcus miller jazz, and the open A string buzzez. And I know the nut is the problem because once I fret the first fret, the buzz is gone. But when I amplify it, I really don't hear it. So heck with it, let it buzz all it wants
