Question Fret Job Question?

Sign in to disble this ad
I had a fret job done on a bass and the upper register end of the fretboard is faded compared to the rest of the board.
Could this be from tape possibly?
I re-oiled the board hoping it would help but it didn't. Im thinking of getting some boiled linseed oil to wipe down just the faded section to bring back it's color and luster. Any other suggestions?
