Fretless fretborad needs resurfacing ?

So a fretless I received from a friend for free buzzes much of the time, I've adjusted the neck to a slightly forward bow that helped but its still there. I do notice some grooves in the bored where the strings would hit the fretbored. Is this something a shop can do, or even does ? I doubt I need a new neck just because of this.

Any competent luthier should be able to sand down and/or resurface the fretboard on a fretless bass.

Yup - the board should be resurfaced. Preferably on a some sort of neck jig so that they neck is sanded flat, rather than exaggerating the curvature of the neck. A competent tech should be able to handle this.
