fretless to fretted, i know it sounds strange

well here's my problem, i just purchased a Warwick Dolphin Pro 1 and got a great deal ($1200 mint cond.). however the problem is that its fretless and i already own a fretless. so my question is this, is fretting a fretless bass considered to be major surgery or is it a painless procedure? (when it comes to a wenge fingerboard) finally does anyone in the London ON. area know a good repair shop?

I imagine if it's a neck through, fretting it will be a P.I.T.A. If it's a bolt on neck, it sounds like a piece of cake.
