Full sized tuners for Bronco Bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am modding a Bronco bass, and was wondering if anyone had installed full sized Fender tuners on one? The old Musicmaster/Mustangs had them, and I have no fears about opening up the holes, but I want to know if they will fit before I drop a wad o' cash for them. Even GFS wants $30 for a set of four.

You'll need to fill the holes and drill for the new ones. Using the old holes will mean that the strings will be angled from the nut to the new thicker pegs.

True, the centers for the new tuner holes will have to be located so the edge of the tuner post is lines up in the neighborhood of the nut slot so the string is tangential to the post to maintain straight string pull.
