G&L GandL bridge question

Somehow, the bridge lock screw dropped out of my SB-2. I don't know the exact year of manufacture, but it is a 6 bolt built somewhere in the mid 2000s.
What size screw do I need to replace it with and where do I find such a thing? Bear in mind I live in a VERY small rural town with very poor hardware store resources.

Thanks!

James

Here is a link to what you need (tension screw set near the bottom of the page):

Thanks, mars. I posted this elsewhere and Ken was good enough to point me that way.

just a heads up football--you prob already know this but that lock screw isnt totally neccessary. I mean, better t have it but you could play days or years without it and be fine me thinks--good lock!

Yeah, but I truly do like locking that bridge down. But thanks do the heads up - tips like these are what truly make this place great.

don't turn it too tight or the bass will explode from overtones

bassfootballguy 02-04-2013 09:03 PM

Not sure what you mean, MP, but I don't plan to tighten it up beyond what is reasonable force.

mpdd 02-04-2013 09:30 PM

i tightened mine a little too tight and the whole bass vibrated not in a normal highly resonant manner either

bassfootballguy 02-05-2013 06:32 AM

Ok. I will make sure I don't do that.

That's only with the set screw made of unobtanium, installed at midnight under a full moon.

I think that's how the Beatles came up with that opening chord in A Hard Day's Night
