G note doesn't seem to be as loud....

I have a bass which, anytime I play a G, it doesn't seem as loud as other notes. This is the case regardless of where I play the G, fret or string. Any thoughts as to what could cause this?

string height, eq settings, or pickup height.

whoops, you said any string, so scratch heights. I could be a tone setting, or perhaps your ear. Do you have a way to visually check the level of the note?

It could be you, so ask other people, or it could be your amp. Try another amp if so.

If the problem still persists, perhaps it lies within your pickups.

I may be able to use the churches decible tester.

It isn't a LOT less than the other notes, but I can hear the difference. It probably wouldn't matter in practice.

BTW, the electronics are the MK-1 Barts.

I seems like it is a frequency issue. Mess around with your eq. Try turning up the low frequency.
