Geddy Lee Pickguard replacement ??

Sign in to disble this ad
Acquired a Geddy Lee body for a project and need to get a pickguard. Is the only difference the extra screw in the middle? Just wondering if a regular jazz pickguard will work??

No, it is a different pickguard. A few places have them on-line. A search here should give you a few hints. Good luck.

Is it close enough to be altered? I found a pickup guard that I really wanted but it is only available for the standard model with the cutout for the truss rod adjustment. This is a project bass and on the body is being used from the original bass.

Actually, you don't need to modify the pickguard at all. The screw placement is the only difference. Just drill new holes into the body where the screw placement is different. The pickguard will cover up the old holes and all will be well.

This site sells pickguards for the Geddy Lee if you're interested.

thanks for all the help. I went with a regular jazz guard and will drill new holes. I found a very unique pickguard and really had to have it. It was only available in the standard jazz or a blank sheet to make my own.
