Genuine Fender Jazz control plate question

Hi! I was hoping someone could tell me if a genuine fender made control plate for an american Jazz bass would fit with a Japanese made geddy lee signature jazz bass. I know that the pick guards are different from the American made ones so I was wondering if the same goes to the control plates. Thanks!
