| Getting a custom pickguard cut in Australia

After buying my new bass (non export aerodyne) i went looking for a a new pickguard for it. not being able to find any of the major online vendors who had the shape i spoke to a friend of mine who is currently in the middle of a guitar making course who assured me he would be able to cut me the pickguard i wanted if i just supplied the new pickguard material and the old guard.
well that fell through and now i have a pickguard blank just sitting here.
wondering if any of you guys could point me towards a source who could trace and cut me a new guard? i was thinking luthiers would be an obvious choice but im sure there are more options...cabinet makers? i dont know help me out here!
