Question Gibson G3 tuning key replacement

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi folks!

Couple of days ago I had one of the tuning keys broken on my beloved gibson g3. So now I'm looking for the replacement and I've found that to be a big problem. On flyguitars I've found out that they used Schaller M4, but recording to the Schaller web site it seems like they changed this model a little, so it seems to me that now it will not fit. On the other hand I really don't want to make extra holes in my bass, so now I have to find another tuner that could be a replacement. In my search I saw Grover 144C, but I'm not sure they will fit neither. The other problem is that I live in Moscow, and here there are not a lot of places where you can buy bass stuff like this, so I have no opportunity to go to the shop and see if it will fit ir not. The only way is to buy online.

So all this makes me kind of stuck. I need some advice from you guys, what model will be the replacement for this tuners? Maybe someone had the same problems with g3/grabber bass? Please, help me with that There are some photos, sorry for the quality, I hope they will help
