Gibson Grabber bridge replacements?

Sign in to disble this ad
Okay, so I'm about to come into possession of a '75 Gibson Grabber. Having played them before, I can say that the one thing I don't like is the bent-tin bridge. Therefore, I'm planning on replacing it with either a Hipshot Type A or a Babicz Full Contact.

Now, the problem I have is I just can't seem to find any information on is the exact string spacing of the Grabber bridge. I'd prefer the Full Contact, but the spacing may not work out. I can check the bridge spacing when I get it, but I'm just kinda trying to get ready before it comes so I can pull it out of the box and go to town on it.

Could be wise to wait until it arrives to get the exact measurements. Over the years Gibson used different neck shapes and body materials etc throughout the years on the G3 and Grabber series.

however I've also seen a BadAss2 bridge (loses the string through tho!) and my own G3 has a Fender-style Gotoh bridge which is fine and dandy!

Post some pix when you get it! What colour did you score?
