hi, i have a 5 string bass setup/tuned for half step down tuning with d'addario chromes.... going to standard tuning what should i do as far as truss rod adjustment ,what i mean is should i go ahead and tune standard let it "sit' for awhile then make truss adjustments? or "pre" adjust rod for standard tuining/ i'll probably be using chromes... thanks.

I'd measure neck relief initially, uptune, then adjust to restore neck relief to the preveiously measured value. Then check the next day, adjust if required.

What I've caught herein, & it makes sense to me, is that in cases like this the '1/4 turn a day' rule of thumb is not applicable. Becuase you aren't changing the tension with the truss rod, you are sort of un-changing the tension change your up-tuning created.
